Cabinet of curiosities

September 16, 2016

A Wunderkammer from an undefinable era, halfway between Damien Hirst and a Biedermeier-style room where women are modern Alices who, upon looking at themselves in the mirror, discover different sides of their personality – as in the paintings by Paul Delvaux – or are deformed as in Christine Aerfeldt’s Beautiful Pastorale.  Mysterious women: a fauvist face make-up that seems to come directly from the paintings of Brazilian artist Selma Weissmann. Melancholic muses inspired by the vision and philosophy of Alexander McQueen and Margiela.
